1862 Dated Confederate Louisiana $100 Savings Bond With Pelican Images
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a great piece! It is an original Civil War savings bond form the state of Louisiana. This is the $100 bond that was issued under the Confederate Government of the state of Louisiana in 1862. At the top and bottom of the main section of the bond it has the great seal of the state of Louisiana that depicts the mother pelican feeding her young. One thing that is special about this one is that it was issued in Shreveport and they marked out the Baton Rouge location. It has the printed March 1st 1862 issue date. This one still has several of the original interest coupons intact around the sides. It is correctly hand signed and number in fine old brown ink. It is serial number "3338" at the top and on each coupon. This is a fantastic piece of Confederate history from the Pelican State!
