This is an original 1862 dated Civil War issued $10.00 note
from the state of Mississippi.
In the center of the note it has the large "TEN
DOLLARS" printing. It also has the steam train going down the tracks. On the
right hand side of the note it has the likeness of the farmer with his grain
and sickle. On the left hand side of the note it has the image of the Goddess
Industry with the factory behind her and the hammer by her side. It is hand
signed and dated November 1st 1862. The note is in nice circulated condition as
you can see in the pictures and displays well. This is the version with the
blue ink "FAITH OF THE STATE PLEDGED" over printing on the face of the note. This
wording is a good bit tougher to find than the usual "Cotton Pledged" style. The
overall size of the note measures 7-1/2ths inches by 3 inches. It comes in an
acid free holder for display and preservation.
