This is a very attractive original 1863 dated $100.00 Civil War Confederate note from the state of Georgia. It was issued from Milledgeville, Georgia on February 2nd 1863 and is so dated at the top of the note. This note has a fine look with a beautiful design. It has the likeness of the Georgia Confederate Governor Joseph E. Brown on the left hand side. It has the "100" denomination on each side of the center of the note with the rattlesnake surrounding the Georgia state seal. It has the red protector panel printed in the center of the note that was added to help prevent counterfeiting of the note. It also has the black ink oval stamp of the Georgia state treasury. The note is in nice almost un-circulated condition. The overall size of this note measures 6.75 inches by 3 inches in size. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
