This is a beautifully designed note! It is an Attractive original $5 note from the state of South Carolina's Commercial Bank of Columbia. The note has a nice hand written date of October of 1855. The center has beautiful Goddess scene with the patriotic shield design by their side. In the lower center of the note it has the famous South Carolina state seal design depicting the Palmetto tree. The overall size of the note measures 7 inches by 2-7/8ths inches. This pattern of note was only printed on one side. Collectors refer to this single side printing as being "Uniface". This is an original note in well circulated condition and has been reinforced on the reverse long ago. The note comes in an acid free holder for preservation.
