Great Looking Excavated Civil War Eagle Sword Belt Buckle
Click on an image to enlarge
This is an attractive excavated Civil War eagle sword belt buckle. This is the style that was worn on the sword belt of many Civil War officers. It has the beautiful spread wing pattern eagle in the center of the buckle. The eagle has the ribbon coming from her beak that reads the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". This is the pattern that had the applied German silver wreath around the eagle when it left the factory. A small amount of the silver came off but there is enough there to make it display beautifully. On the back of the buckle it has the original keeper hook intact. This is a beautiful excavated buckle for your collection.
