Scarce Variation 1862 Georgia $10 With Georgia State Seal CR4B
Click on an image to enlarge

This is a very attractive original 186 dated $10.00 note from the state of Georgia. It was issued from Milledgeville, Georgia on January 15th 1862 and is so dated at the top of the note. This note has a fine look with a beautiful design. It has the likeness of the goddess Ceres. It has the stamped black ink Georgia state seal arches in the top center of the note. The note is in beautiful uncirculated condition. It is correctly hand signed and numbered in fine old ink. This is the pattern that is listed as CR4B in the Southern Currency book by Hugh Shull. It has the red protector overprint lower on the note than the usual notes. They are tough to find in this variation. He las them valued at $250 to $450. We got a good buy on this one and wanted to pass it along. The overall size of the mote measures 6.75 inches by 3 inches in size. The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
