Click on an image to enlarge
This is a nice original Confederate States of America $1.00 bill from 1862. It is clearly dated from December 2nd 1862 across the top of the note and also has the Richmond, Virginia location of issuance. It has the correct hand signed signatures and serial numbers in fine old ink. In the center of the note is the likeness of Clement C. Clay who was Governor of Alabama and then a Confederate Senator from Alabama. As you can see in the images the note is in crisp un-circulated condition and displays well. This is the version listed as figure T-55 in Criswell's Confederate Currency book. The overall size of the note measures 7.25 inches by 3 inches. The note comes in an acid free holder for preservation and display.
