This is a very attractive original 1863 dated 5 cent note
from the State of Georgia.
It was issued from Milledgeville,
Georgia in
January of 1863 and is so dated along the top of the note. The note is in almost un-circulated condition and is correctly hand numbered with the printed signatures. It states that it the state will "pay the bearer at the treasury in Confederate Treasury Notes, when presented in sums of
Five Dollars and upwards." The overall size of the note measures 2 inches by 4-1/2 inches. It comes in an acid free holder for display and
preservation.
