1855 Dated State of Alabama Central Bank With Red Overprint

This is an original 1855 Dated Civil War era $5.00 Note from the State of Alabama. This one was issued by the "CENTRAL BANK OF ALABAMA" and is proudly marked across the center of the note. On the left-hand side of the note it has the Montgomery place of issuance and the other side has the hand written 1855 issuance date. It has the likeness of two white me and one black man depicted in the center of the note. Down in the lower right hand corner it has the steamboat image. This pattern of currency has the hand written ink signatures and serial number. The front and back of the note has the pair of red "5" denominations. These were added to help prevent counterfeiting. The overall size of the note measures 7.25 inches by 3 inches. The note is in attractive circulated condition and is 100% authentic in all regards. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
