Authentic Steam Paddlewheel Scene Confederate $1 From 1862

There is a great design on this note! It is the 1862 production of the Confederate States of American $1.00. It was issued from Richmond, Virginia and has the clear date of June 2nd 1862 on the front. It has the steam paddlewheel ship in the center. On the left hand side it has image of Liberty with a shield. In the lower right hand corner is the likeness of Lucy Pickens. She is the only woman honored by appearing on Confederate currency. Mrs. Picken's husband was an ambassador to Russia. She won the favor of the Russian Tsar that gave her many valuable jewels. When the Civil War broke out Mrs. Pickens sold those jewels to raise money for the Confederate cause. This note was one way the Confederate Government honored her as well as using her dedication to the Confederacy as an example of Southern devotion. This is the version listed as figure T-44 in Criswell's Confederate Currency book. The note is in heavily circulated condition with a ancient repair tot he back and it is priced accordingly. The note has the correct hand signed and numbered. It comes in an acid free holder for preservation and display.
