Nice Original .36 Caliber Colt "Pocket Navy or Police" Iron Bullet Mold
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a very fine original iron bullet model for the .36 caliber Civil War Colt patent revolver. This is the style that makes one round ball and one conical bullet as well. The original sprue cutter and screw are present and you can make out most of the "COLTS PATENT" mark on the top of the sprue cutter. On the side of the mold it has the ".36 P" stamp still visible. This marking probably denotes it being used with either the Model 1862 Police Model or the Model 1862 Pocket Navy revolver. Both of these models were in the .36 caliber size. The mold opens and closes and would probably cast a bullet still today. Someone has cast a couple of bullets on the inside. What a cool addition to display beside of your gun.
