H.E. Leman of Lancaster, Pennsylvania Full Stock Rifle With Pretty Patchbox

Here is a cool rifle made by a famous maker from Pennsylvania. This is a full-stock rifled that fires a bullet of .40 caliber. The barrel is full-length at 41-1/2 inches and is the octagonal designed. It is created with the pretty brass furniture that includes the large brass patchbox. On the patchbox, it has the carved horns with the face in the center. The gun has the full-length faux striped maple stock with raised cheek rest. It has the splice close to the triggerguard as you can see in the images. It has the original single screw commercial percussion lock is marked "H. ELWELL/WARRANTED". The mechanics of the gun are designed with the double set trigger. The mechanics of the gun are designed with the double set triggers. This design is made for target or sharpshooting. You pull the back trigger so that when you cock the hammer back it clicks into place. This makes it set with a hair trigger that fires at the slightest touch when you pull the front trigger. The mechanics work crisply on all positions. The barrel has the drum style percussion bolster. The top of the barrel has the "H.E. LEMAN" in an arc, along with "LANCASTER" and "WARRANTED". In addition to the markings, the barrel is decorated with intertwined punched lines, as well as punched tear drops and dots. The brass furniture includes a traditional Lancaster-style four-piece patchbox that is engraved with an engraved toe plate that doubles as a release. The engraved saddle plate is cut to allow for the forend splice. Other furniture includes a crescent buttplate, finger extension triggerguard, forend reinforcement strip, corrugated thimbles and an entry pipe that is attached to the saddle plate. At the back of the barrel, it has the dovetailed notch rear sight and it has the original dovetailed brass blade front sight. This is a great looking Pennsylvania rifle!
