This is a nice original example of the most famous of all Civil War newspapers, the Frank Leslie Illustrated Newspaper. This paper is dated June 11th 1864. On the cover it has the fine images of the the Confederate Ram Albermarle in battle in North Carolina. On the inside it has many different fine engravings including the article telling about the the Battle of Spotsylvania. It has the center spread showing the scene of "THE WAR IN VIRGINIA - SHERIDAN'S GREAT BATTLE WITH J.E.B. STUART, AT YELLOW TAVERN, MAY 11 - THE REBEL RAIDER'S LAST FIGHT." The back pages have many interesting advertisements. This is an authentic issue of the famous Frank Leslie's Newspaper from the Civil War.
