Confederate "SWAN NECK" Style Cavalry Spur in Excavated Condition
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a good looking excavated cavalry spur. This is spur of the style that is known as the "Swan Neck" Confederate spur. They get this nickname because they are made with the very long rowel neck that is long like that of a swan. The spur is completely unmarked and is the style that was worn by cavalry enlisted Confederates during the Civil War. It is missing the rowel on the swan style neck. On the back of the spur legs it has the rectangular style strap loops holes. It has a beautiful greenish excavated patina with a pretty color to the brass. The spur is in fine excavated condition for its age.
