This is an excellent reunion medal from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was the veteran's organization made up of Union veterans of the Civil War. This medal is for a soldier from the state of Ohio. The top bar has the "GAR" cast into the pretty bronze color metal. On the back it has the maker marking but the attachment pin is missing in action. This ribbon has the "DELEGATE" in gold that lets us know it was worn by an actual veteran instead of being just a souvenir that anyone could buy. The lower medallion has the G.A.R. department of Ohio reunion information on the back to go along with the 1928 date and Columbus location. On the front it has the image of Colonel S.I. Keith from Ohio. This is a beautiful designed reunion medal in excellent shape.
