Scarce Non-Dug Confederate "I With Stars" Coat Button CS186

I love the look of this button! It has a straight out of the attic look all over. This is a button that has always been highly prized by collectors of Confederate buttons. This is the one that is known to collectors as the Confederate "I with Stars". It is the pattern listed as CS186 in Albert's button book and as CSI255a1 in Tice's book. They stand out from the rest because the "I" and area around the letter has the stars. The "I" has 10 stars going around the button face. You can still see at least part of most of the stars on this one. On the reverse of the button it has the original tin back intact with a nice look. The button is the version that has the copper wire shank. This is a fine looking non-excavated Confederate "I with Stars".
