Wythville, Virginia Southwestern Bank Issued $1 Note From 1861

Here is a beautifully designed $1 note issued from the Southwestern Bank of Virginia that was located in Wythville, Virginia. The early war $1 note was issued on May 1st 1861. It featured a beautiful scene of the eagle feeding the young ones in the upper right hand corner. In the center of the note, it has the image of the dog's head. It is correctly hand signed and numbered in ink. It measures 7 inches by 3 inches in size. The center fold has been reinforced on the reverse. The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation. This is a fine looking, scarce early Virginia bank note.
