Artillery
Beautiful Non-Excavated 1-Piece Artillery Eagle Coat Button AY60
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a fine original non-dug coat size 1830 period artillery corps button. This one has great looking detail. It has the cannon on the front with the eagle perched on top of the barrel. Above that image it has "ARTILLERY" and below the image it has "REGT". As you can see the face of the button still retains a nice amount of the original gold gilding from the factory in the protected areas. This one has the original shank present on the back of the button and you can read the backmark of the eagle design and the wording of "SUPERFINE COLOUR." This is the style listed as figure AY60A in Albert's button book and as AM215 in Tice's book. It is a great looking 1-piece artillery coat button in non-excavated condition.
