Matching Pair! Dragoon Style Design Cavalry Spurs From the Baird Spur Book
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a very fine non-excavated pair of iron cavalry spurs. This is the EXACT pair of spurs that are pictured and described on page 79 of the fine spur book by Dr. Bob Baird entitled Confederate, US and Other Civil War Used Spurs. He explains how this is the style spur that have the drive in pin in the center of the spur and would have been nailed in place on the soldier's boot. These spurs are quite similar to the U.S. Model 1841 Dragoon spur. They are very distinctive because of the design as well as the large rowel. The pointed rowels are still present and they still turn. The spurs are in beautiful non-excavated condition. This is a great looking spur pair that was published!
