Early Style Bust View CDV Image of Confederate General Stonewall Jackson

This is an authentic CDV image of Confederate General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson (1824-1863). It is a nice clear CDV of the General in his pre-Civil War uniform. It shows the solemn looking Jackson in the classic bust view with his General's stars showing on his collar. Jackson is one of the legendary figures in Civil War history. He graduated from West point in 1846. He served with distinction during the Mexican War and then he taught at Virginia Military Institute. He was promoted to Brigadier general on June 17th of 1861 and then to Major general after the fierce fighting at 1st Manassas. He saw numerous engagements with the enemy during the war including the battles of Staunton, Front Royal, Winchester, Cross keys and Port Republic. Also Jackson fought at 2nd Manassas, Sharpsburg and Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. He was wounded by friendly fire on the night of May 2nd 1863 and died from pneumonia on May 10th 1863. The card stock is made without the photographer's mark so it could be sold by any retailer.
