This is an excellent reunion medal from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was the veteran's organization made up of Union veterans of the Civil War. This medal is for a soldier from the state of New York. The top bar is made with "DEPT. of NEW YORK" with a medallion dangling down that says "TYPEWRITER CITY". The ribbon has the "DELEGATE" designation. The lower medallion is made like a knapsack. The pin is still present on the back of the medal. It has the Whitehead and Hoag of New Jersey maker marking. This is a beautiful designed reunion medal in nice shape.
