This is a nice original example of the most famous of all Civil War newspapers, the Frank Leslie Illustrated Newspaper. This paper is dated November 19th 1864. On the cover it has the fine image of "THE CELEBRATION OF THE ABOLITION OF NEGRO SLAVERY IN MARYLAND, AT PHILADELPHIA, PENN.". On the inside it has many different fine engravings including a center spread showing the the soldiers digging the Dutch Gap Canal on the way to Richmond. There is also an image of the Confederate Ram Albemarle. The back pages have many interesting advertisements. This is an authentic issue of the famous Frank Leslie's Newspaper from the Civil War.
