This is a great looking early piece of Confederate postal history! It is the earliest pattern of Confederate postage stamps and according to the books it was printed in 1861. This is the one that has the image of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in the center. They each are for the value of five cents and is so printed along the bottom edge of the stamp. Around the image it proudly reads "CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA". The stamp is nicely printed with green tone ink and the image shows well. It is circular postmarked from Crawfordville (Crawford), Mississippi. This one is addressed to "Mr. J.J. Hatbert / Hinds Co. Terry, Miss.)." It is a neat addition to a fine stamp. This is a very nice looking authentic Confederate postage stamp and one of the tougher styles to find and you get the envelope as a bonus.
