This is a neat piece of Civil War money. It is an original $1.00 bank note from The County of Sussex in Virginia. It was issued from Sussex, in the County of Sussex Virginia and is so marked along the center. In the center of the note it has the "ONE DOLLAR" denomination. The note is
smaller and measures 5-1/8th inches by 2-1/4th inches in size. It has the printed
issuance date of March 29th 1862 in the center of the note. The
note is in beautiful well circulated condition. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. It is printed on extremely thin paper so it is a wonder that any of them survived. The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
