This is a neat piece of Civil War money. It is an original 10 cent bank note from The County of Monroe in Virginia. It was issued from Union, Virginia and is so marked along the top edge. In the center of the note it has the "TEN CENTS" denomination. The note is
smaller and measures 6-1/4th inches by 2-1/2 inches in size. It has the printed
issuance date of June 16th 1862 in the upper right of the note. The
note is in beautiful well circulated condition. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. It is printed on extremely thin paper so it is a wonder that any of them survived. The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
