This is a beautifully designed Civil War piece of currency from Virginia. This $1 note was issued by the Traders' Bank of Virginia that was located at Richmond, Virginia. It has the hand printed issue date of September 8th 1861. On the right hand side of the note it has the image of the sailor which is also used on 1861 Confederate $5 notes. It is correctly hand signed and numbered in old ink. These notes are printed on the front side and were left blank on the reverse. This is known to collectors as the bill being "Uniface". The note is in nice circulated condition and is 100% authentic in all regards. The overall size of the note measures 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
