This is a cool original shoulder epaulet. This is the classic style that was worn on dress uniforms during the 1830's to Civil War timeframe. It has the beautiful silver cloth that has turned to a gorgeous dark gray flavor over the years. It also has the original bullion tassels dangling from the large end of the epaulet. The silver color denotes that they would have been worn by an infantry officer. The underside of each epaulet has the remnants of the original light colored silk padded backing still remaining. This is a great looking epaulet that will enhance your coat if yours is missing or you can just enjoy it as it is.
