9th Maine Infantry CDV Image of Samuel A. Bagley with Machias, Maine Backmark

Here is a neat original Civil War CDV Image. This is an image from the 9th Maine Infantry. It is a CDV Image of Samuel A. Bagley in his uniform. It shows a seated view of Bagley and you can see the veteran stripes on the lower section of his sleeves. the hat is seated on the table. On the front of the hat, you can see the infantry hunting horn on the front with the "9" int he center that denotes the 9th regiment. The back of the card has the clear Machias, Maine photographer mark. The records show that Samuel A. Bagley enlisted int he 9th Maine Infantry on September 21st 1861. He served with the regiment until he mustered out on July 13th 1865. The 9th Maine saw service in the Carolinas including Fort Wagner and Morris Island. Then they fought in Virginia for Cold Harbor and Bermuda Hundred. This is a cool image with a neat soldier history.
