1863 Dated 5 Cent Note with Confederate North Carolina State Seal Design

This is a beautifully design original 1863 dated Civil War state of North Carolina 5 cent note. This one has the beautiful image of the North Carolina state seal in the center of the note. The great seal of North Carolina depicts the female figures, Liberty and Plenty. Liberty is holding a liberty pole with her right hand and in her left is a scroll inscribed "Constitution". Plenty grasps a cornucopia with her left hand and wheat with her right hand. Across the top of the note it proudly reads "STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA". In Also in the center of the top it has the date of issuance of January 1st 1863 and the location of Raleigh. It is correctly hand signed and serial numbered in fine old ink. The overall size of the note measures 4-3/8ths inches by 2-1/4th inches in overall size. As you can see the note is in nice circulated condition. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
