Here is a very interesting newspaper from 1863. This is The Liberator from Boston, Massachusetts and is dated November 21st 1863. This large newspaper measures 18 inches by 26 inches in size. It has many articles covering the War but the most interesting article is on the first column. It has the headline of "Refuge of Oppression" over the title of "Niggerology". It is an article that came from another paper, The Boston (Irish Catholic) Pilot. It shows that there were many people up North that didn't want emancipation. On the inside of the paper it has several articles about General McClellan including one about him being relieved of command by Lincoln. This is a quite interesting paper showing some of the views of the Civil War civilians.
