This is an original early 19th century 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot button. The button design features the title of the regiment within a band which encircles the lion in the center. This 22mm button has the pewter front and an applied brass shank. The shank has been restored in recent times. The Royal Newfoundland Regiment is a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army. It is part of the 5th Canadian Division's 37 Canadian Brigade Group. Predecessor units trace their origins to 1795, and since 1949 Royal Newfoundland Regiment has been a unit of the Canadian Army. This is a nice looking button!
