Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a piece that looks great and is framed up in a modern frame. It is a soldier memorial that was so often purchased by the veteran to hang on their wall and honor the service they gave to their country. This one measures 23-1/2 inches by 33 inches in overall size. It shows the beautiful soldier's monument with the opening in the center that was filled in with the service history of the soldier. This one was done for Private Rudolph Hocke who served in the 19th Wisconsin Infantry. The records show that Hocke enlisted in Company "F" of the 19th Wisconsin Infantry on March 3rd 1862. He served with the regiment until he was mustered out on April 29th 1865. The regiment was raised in the winter of 1861-1862 at Camp Utley in Racine, Wisconsin. They guarded prisoners of Fort Donelson and then was sent to Yorktown and New Berne. They also fought at Petersburg, Virginia. The piece comes framed in a modern metal edged frame. The frame itself measures 24-1/2 inches by 36-1/2 inches in overall size. It has some wear and edge chipping, but otherwise displays beautifully. A wonderful piece of history from the Badger state
