Beautiful Manchester Backmarked Confederate "Stippled C" Cavlry Coat Button CS126

This is a beautiful looking original non-excavated coat size Confederate cavalry button. This is the style listed as CS126 in Albert's book and CSC200a1 in Tice's Book. These are referred to by collectors as the "Stippled C" because the block style "C" on the face of the button has tiny stippled dots across it. It has fine detail to the face of the button with the "C' showing up very clearly. On the back of the button it has the original back and shank intact. This is the version that that has the "*H T & B * MANCHESTER" backmark. This is the desirable maker's mark of the firm of Hammond, Turner & Bates of Manchester, England. They made these high quality buttons for the Confederacy. They would have been imported through the naval blockade and sold to the well-to-do Confederate cavalrymen. This is a great looking Confederate cavalry button that displays superbly. Item #: B3420 (Sold)
