Scarce Non-Excavated Blank Back Confederate Cavalry Coat Button CS127
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a classy looking original example of the coat size Confederate cavalry button. This is the style listed as CS127 in Albert's book and CSC203a4 in Tice's Book. These are referred to by collectors as the "Lined C" because the block style "C" on the face of the button has lines across it. The "C' denotes the cavalry branch of Confederate service. It has fine detail to the face of the button. On the back the shank is complete and intact. This is the slightly tougher to find blank style back. They left the maker's name off of the back so it could be sold by any retailer without advertising for the actual manufacturer. This is a very fine displaying Confederate cavalry button.
