This is a great original Civil War image! It is an original Civil War tintype image of a pair of Union soldiers. This is the size that is known to collectors as the sixth plate size. It measures about 2.75 inches by 3.25 inches in overall size. This one shows the knee-up view of the Union soldiers in uniform. The coat that they are wearing is the classic shell style military coat. Tucked in their belts you can see the Sheffield style knives that were so coveted by the soldiers. One of them is wearing the belt with the double iron buckles and his musket by his side and the mucket has the bayonet on the end. The one soldier has the pepperbox style revolver behind the belt buckle. The image is displays and comes in a half leatherette style image case with a patriotic design. The image has some scratches but still displays well. This is a very nice looking double armed Civil War soldier in uniform.
