Civil War & Earlier Soldier's Belt Buckles in Excavated & Non-E
Authentic Artillery Sword Belt Rig With The Original Scabbard Frog
Click on an image to enlarge
This is an original Civil War era belt rig for a short pattern artillery sword. This is the belt for the swords that were patterned after the Roman gladiator swords with the fierce look like you see in the movies. The scabbard is a great looking and complete original black buff leather belt. The buff leather has a nice dark tan color all over. It has the excellent eagle style sword belt buckle intact with the vividly clear eagle in the center. This is the version that has the three-piece German silver wreath surrounding the Eagle on the face of the buckle. The belt itself is the version that was made at Allegheny Arsenal but the belt buckle is an original from another belt. We know this because of the 4-digit assembly number of 4,926 and the buckle has the number 558. The brass of the buckle is a gorgeous untouched color that displays superbly. This is a very nice looking artillery short sword belt rig with the original buff leather scabbard frog intact. This one is nice enough that your scabbard should still fit in the frog.
