Lynchburg, Virginia 1861 Dated 50 Cent Note from the Lynchburg Savings Bank

Here is a good looking note. This is a piece of currency was issued by the Lynchburg Savings Bank in Lynchburg, Virginia and is marked as such along the top of the note. It has the date December 21st 1861. The note has the black ink that makes it displays well. The Lynchburg Savings Bank was a relatively young institution, having only been authorized by the General Assembly on February 24, 1860. It is not believed that the bank survived the Civil War. It is made with the blank back which is known as it being "Uniface". The date is hand inscribed in red ink and it has the brown ink signatures. Don't miss your chance to own this interesting note. The note measures 6-1/8ths inches by 2-1/2 inches in size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
