This is an authentic CDV image of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan (1825-1864). It is a nice clear CDV of the General in his pre-Civil war uniform from his service to the United States before the Civil War. It shows the dashing looking Morgan in the classic bust view with his officer's shoulder boards on the collar. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama and he served with distinction during the Mexican War and then he taught at Virginia Military Institute. His cavalry exploits are legendary and will always be beloved by Southerners everywhere. On the bottom of the card it has the "Col. John H. Morgan" which is neat because it lets you now this is from early in the Civil War when it was produced. It also calls him "The Marion of the South", referring to the way Francis Marion was a brave fighter of a guerilla style war during the American Revolution. This is a cool CDV with a mark! A Fine view of one of the South's most beloved Generals.
