Excavated Civil War Confederate Government Uniform Buttons
Authentic Blockade Button! Confederate Artillery Coat Button by H.T. & B
Click on an image to enlarge
This is an original non-excavated Civil War Confederate artillery coat button. This is the style that was run through the blockade from the firm of Hammond, Turner & Bates of Manchester England. On the back of the button it has traces of the "MANCHESTER H.T.&B." backmark. The original shank is intact on the back as you can see. The face has the large block style "A" that denotes the artillery branch of Confederate service. The button has a clear letter with a nice patina from it's years in the ground. There is a very push to the face that is mentioned for exactness. This is the style listed as figure CS101 in Albert's button book and CSA200 in Tice's button book. This is a nice button for the price.
