Click on an image to enlarge

This is an authentic piece of colonial currency from the 1700's. These early U.S. currency pieces from the colonies that would make up our states are a true piece of history. This one was issued by Rhode Island. It is clearly dated from Newport on May 1786. This one was worth the amount of 6 Pence. Yes that's right at that time currency was still figured in English or Spanish values. In the middle of the note it has the image of the Rhode Island anchor. The reverse of this particular style note has the marking of "Death to Counterfeit". The note is on a fine piece of paper that measures approximately 4-3/8ths inches by 3 inches in overall size and is in gorgeous condition. The note has been graded professionally by the PMG grading service and is rated by them as a "Extremely Fine" note. It comes in their acid-free holder for preservation and display.
