Slave Scene 1859 Dated State of Alabama Central Bank $10 With Washington Image

This is an original 1859 Dated Civil War era $10.00 Note from the State of Alabama. This one was issued by the "CENTRAL BANK OF ALABAMA" and is proudly marked across the center of the note. Below that, it has the Montgomery place of issuance and the other side has the hand written 1859 issuance date. It has the likeness of overseer and the men picking cotton depicted in the center of the note. Down in the lower right hand corner it has the George Washington image. On the left hand side, it has the image of the Slave carrying the basket of cotton that was used on many notes in the South. This pattern of currency has the hand written ink signatures and serial number. The front and back of the note has the pair of red "TEN" denominations. These were added to help prevent counterfeiting. The overall size of the note measures 7-1/8th inches by 3 inches. The note is in attractive circulated condition and is 100% authentic in all regards. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
