New York Found Revolutionary War Continental Army "USA" 23 mm Coat Button

Here is a button that you very seldom see offered for sale! It is an original uniform button from the United States Continental Army from the Revolutionary War. When you hold this one in your hand you can just imagine that it was worn by a soldier in front of George Washington for a review. It has the intertwined letters "USA" on the face of the pewter button. This is the 23 mm coat pattern that is illustrated as figure GI2d in Albert's button book. These fragile buttons very seldom survive and since there were only a few of them made to begin with you very seldom see offered for sale. This one still retains the original pewter shank as is so often the case with these. It displays well. You can see the letters on front of the button. The button is on a display card from the 1960's and it has the small applied tag. The tag reads "U.S.A. CATROCK ROAD GARRISON NEW YORK" which is located int he Hudson Valley of New York. This is a very scarce button that you don't want to miss!
