Click on an image to enlarge
This is a scarce original Civil War $2 from the State of Missouri. It is issued from Jefferson City, Missouri on January 1st 1862 and is so printed on the face of the note. In the center of the note it has the image of a farmer tending to two of his horses while plowing. In the distance you can see a train crossing a bridge. In the center of the note it has the large green ink protector "TWO" printed onto the paper. This was added to help aid in counterfeiting of the note. On the left hand side of the note it has the young girl image. On the right hand side it has the great seal of the state of Missouri. The note is correctly hand signed and numbered in old ink. This is a very desirable note that is in beautiful almost un-circulated condition. It displays superbly. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
