This is a cool piece! It is an original woven ribbon to commemorate the Grand Army of the Republic 26th National Encampment reunion that was held in Washington, D.C. in 1892. The GAR was the main veteran's organization for Union veterans of the Civil War. The center of the woven ribbon has the image of the GAR Member Medal with the anchor and crossed rifles at the bottom. It even has the red tassel at the bottom. It measures 10 inches by 2-1/2 inches in overall size. The ribbon is faded but what makes it extra special is that it is still on the original paper sheet fromt he factory. Itr was made by the Paterson, New Jersey firm of John Best & Company. This is a great ribbon!
