This is an original dug coat size 1815 period artillery corps button. This one has a deep dark green patina with excellentdetail. It has the cannon on the front with the eagle perched on top of the barrel. Below the gun is a stack of cannonballs. Across the bottom of the button you can still read part of the "CORPS" wording. This one has the shank nicely intact on the back of the button. This button was dug eons ago as you can tell by the gorgeous patina. This is the style listed as figure AY55 in Albert's button book.
