Here is a great piece of Tennessee history! This is an original sheet of unissued bank notes from the state of Tennessee. This sheet of four $5 notes was printed for the Nashville Bank of Tennessee. This bank was in business from 1838 until 1866 and these would have been from the 1850's. Int he upper left hand corner it has the image of the three workers. It has the oval portrait of Hugh Lawson White. Thew notes are beautifully crafted and were engraved by the firm of Danforth, Bald & Company of New York and Philadelphia and that is noted along the bottom edge of the note. The sheet has been professionally graded by the Paper Money Guaranty Company, PMG, and they rated it as "Very Fine". It is in their holder for display and preservation. This one is a keeper!
