This is a true work of art as much as it is a bank note. It
is an original $100 note from the Citizens Bank of Louisiana in New Orleans,
Louisiana. This one was never issued as you can tell by the blanks where the
names and signatures would have gone. This note displays superbly and was never
issued and it is from the pre-Civil War era as they were not printed after the
Civil War. It has the scene that shows beautiful view of Lady Liberty. If you notice down in the bottom center of
the note it has the "NEW ORLEANS"
location of the bank along with the Louisiana state seal pelican feeding her young. The back of the note has the beautiful maroon ink tones with
the large "100" with the "CITIZENS' BANK OF LOUISIANA" in the center.
You can tell that these notes were crafted like a work of art and not just
printed as were so many of the pieces of the day. The overall size of note
measures 7-1/4ths inches by 3-1/4th inches. This note was professionally graded by the PCGS Company and they rated it as being "Choice About New" and it notes that it was "PPQ". This means that it was printed on paper that was Premium Paper Quality. The note comes in their acid free holder for preservation.
