This is a fine piece of history from a Civil War veteran. It is an original reunion badge that was made to commemorate Memorial Day by the Lakeport, New Hampshire. This badge was from post 36 of the Grand Army of the Republic which was the Union Veterans of the Civil War. The gold ink states that it was held on May 30th 1916 in Lakeport, New Hampshire. The celluloid has a fine image of the post commander. The thing plastic has peeled back from the very top. The top has the original original pin intact on the reverse. It has the maker's marking of the Newark firm of Whitehead and Hoag. Overall the pieces measures 4 inches by 1-1/2 inches in size. This one is very nice and will enhance any collection.
