This is an excellent reunion medal form the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was the veteran's organization made up of Union veterans of the Civil War. This medal commemorates the reunion that was held in Boston, Massachusetts in 1904. The top bar has the reunion date and location as well as the eagle design. The middle bar has the G.A.R. design. On the lower section it proudly reads "38th NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT". On the back of the piece it has the mark that lets us know it is a souvenir badge. It has great color all over and even has the original pin on the back of the top bar. This is a beautiful designed reunion medal in excellent shape.
