Click on an image to enlarge
This is a cool looking belt and buckle. This is a brass 2-piece belt buckle. The tongue of the buckle has the "fouled" anchor that has the rope wrapped around it. The other portion has the detailed wreath. The wreath has the opening on the inside at 12 and 6 which is known as an "Easy Off" design. This particular version would have almost surely been made AFTER the Civil War. The buckle is on the tarred leather belt with the original length adjuster intact. The belt is accompanied by 2 of the leather and brass hangers that are well worn but still present. This is a cool looking sword belt and buckle.
